The canal linking Champagne and Burgundy

a secret side of Burgundy

The southern section of this canal opened in 1907 and runs through the delightful Vingeanne Valley. There, among the hedgerows and the unexpected views, you should take the time to wander around the elegant châteaux of Talmay, Fontaine-Française and Arcelot, or to relax with the whole family at the Pontailler-sur-Saône leisure park. In Auxonne, the memory of Napoleon still lives on through the Royal Artillery School.
